Lily is a little girl. Lily is two years old. Today, Lily wants to go outside. "Mummy, can we go outside?" Lily asks. "Yes, Lily," says Mummy. "We can go to the park."
Lily puts on her shoes. Mummy helps with her coat. They walk to the park. The sun is shining. The sky is blue. "Look, Mummy! Birds!" says Lily. "Yes, Lily. Birds love spring," says Mummy.
The park is big. There are flowers everywhere. "Pretty flowers!" says Lily. "Yes, Lily. These are spring flowers," says Mummy. Lily sees yellow flowers and pink flowers. She likes the pink ones best.
Lily and Mummy see a big tree. "Look at the tree, Lily," says Mummy. "The leaves are green." Lily touches a leaf. It is soft and fresh.
"Mummy, what's that sound?" Lily asks. "That is a bee," says Mummy. "Bees like flowers." Lily watches the bee fly. "Bye-bye, bee!" says Lily.
Lily finds a tiny stick. "Can I plant it, Mummy?" Lily asks. "Yes, Lily. Let's plant the stick in the dirt," Mummy says. Lily makes a small hole and puts the stick in. "Grow, little stick," says Lily.
The sun is warm. The breeze is gentle. Lily feels happy. "Spring is fun, Mummy," Lily says. "Yes, Lily. Spring is a special time," says Mummy.
Lily stretches her arms. "I like spring," she smiles. "I like flowers. I like bees. I like trees." Mummy hugs Lily. "And I like you, little Lily," Mummy says.
The day is bright and lively. Lily and Mummy walk home. Lily thinks about spring. Spring is nice. Spring is new. And best of all, spring is here.
