A joyful 2-year-old girl jumps into a large puddle with a big splash, wearing light brown curly hair, a bright red coat, yellow rubber boots and a small blue hat, rosy cheeks and sparkling eyes; to her right a smiling mother (~30) sits on a checkered blanket near a basket holding a cup of tea and a sandwich; to her left a small yellow duck walks at the pond’s edge watching the puddle, fluffy with orange feet; a tiny red ladybug with black spots crawls on the girl’s fingertip; a striped bee buzzes above a large yellow flower with translucent, blurred wings; the bright spring garden has wet green grass, yellow and blue flowers, trees with young leaves and a soft sky with fluffy white clouds; the scene is simple and warm with saturated colors, rounded outlines, exaggerated expressions and a retro cartoon, cozy atmosphere. report a problem with this image

Lily wakes up. The sun is soft. The air is cool. It smells like wet grass. Lily puts on her red coat. She holds her small hat.

She walks to the yard. She hears birds. "Tweet," says a bird. Lily claps. She feels happy.

She sees a puddle. The rain was here. Lily jumps. Splash! The water is cool on her boots. She laughs. A worm wiggles. Lily looks. She is calm.

A bee hums near a yellow flower. Lily watches. She smells the flower. It is sweet. She touches a petal. It is soft. A tiny ladybug walks on her finger. Lily says, "Hello." The bug moves slow. Lily smiles.

Her mom brings a snack. The bread is warm. The tea is mild. Lily sits on a small blanket. She feels the sun on her face. She hears leaves in the wind. She sees clouds move like slow boats.

A little duck walks by the pond. Lily waves. The duck quacks softly. Lily feels safe. She picks a small dandelion. She blows. The seeds fly like tiny white snow. Lily watches them go.

Now it is time to rest. Lily hugs her doll. Her eyes get heavy. The yard is calm. The spring day was kind.

Moral: Small things in spring bring warm joy and calm.
