A joyful 2-year-old boy with rosy cheeks and short blond hair, wearing a soft blue sweater and yellow shoes, laughing and drawing a smiling face in the soil with a stick; his mother, about 30–35, fair-skinned with chestnut hair in a ponytail and a light floral dress, stands beside him holding his hand and smiling tenderly; two yellow-and-brown ducks by a small pond—one splashing as it dives, the other swimming calmly; spring morning with dewy green grass, small yellow flowers and daisies, a tranquil blue-reflecting pond, young light-green trees and a pale blue sky with soft sun; bright atmosphere, vivid colors, soft textures, composition centered on the mother-and-child pair in front of the pond. report a problem with this image

One sunny morning, Ben wakes up and hears “tweet-tweet!” outside his window. He smiles. Spring is here! Ben puts on his soft blue jumper. “Let's go, Mummy!” he says.

Ben and Mummy walk outside. The grass is green and wet. “Squish, squish,” goes Ben's little shoe. He laughs and holds Mummy's hand. The air smells fresh. Ben takes a big breath. “Mmm!” he says.

He sees a yellow flower. “Hello, flower!” Ben says. He touches the soft petals. “So soft,” he whispers. A bee goes “bzzz” and flies away. Ben claps his hands. “Bye-bye, bee!”

Ben hears “quack-quack!” He looks and sees two ducks by the pond. One duck jumps in. “Plouf!” Water splashes. Ben giggles. “Duck is happy!” Ben says.

Ben picks up a little stick. He draws a happy face in the dirt. “Look, Mummy!” he says. Mummy smiles. “You make lovely things, Ben,” she says.

A gentle wind blows. “Whoosh!” Ben feels it on his cheeks. He closes his eyes and listens. The birds sing. The trees dance. Ben feels calm and happy.

“Mummy, I love spring,” Ben says. Mummy hugs him. “Spring loves you too,” she says.

It is nice to look, listen, and feel the world around you.
