Lucy is two years old. She loves the springtime. One sunny day, Lucy goes outside with Mommy. The grass is green. The sky is blue. "Look, Mommy!" says Lucy. "Flowers!" There are yellow flowers, pink flowers, and white flowers. Lucy smiles.
"Let's plant some seeds," says Mommy. Lucy holds a tiny seed. "Put it in the ground," Mommy says. Lucy digs a little hole. She puts the seed in. "Will it grow, Mommy?" Lucy asks. "Yes, it will," Mommy says. "With sunshine and rain, it will grow."
They walk to the big tree. "What's that sound?" Lucy asks. "Chirp, chirp," sings a bird. "It's a bird," Mommy says. Lucy looks up. "Hello, bird!" Lucy waves. The bird flies away. "Bye-bye, bird," Lucy laughs.
"Let's find eggs," Mommy says. They look in the garden. "I see one!" Lucy shouts. She picks up a colorful egg. "Pink egg!" she says. "Good job, Lucy," Mommy says. They find more eggs. Blue egg, green egg, yellow egg. Lucy is happy.
"Time to water the seeds," Mommy says. Lucy holds a little watering can. She pours water on the seeds. "Drink up, seeds!" Lucy giggles. "Grow big and strong!"
The sun is warm. The breeze is gentle. "Spring is nice," Lucy says. Mommy nods. "Spring is special," she says. "The world wakes up."
Lucy looks at the sky. "Clouds, Mommy!" she points. "Yes, fluffy clouds," Mommy smiles. They watch the clouds together. Lucy feels cozy and loved.
"Let's go inside," Mommy says. "We will see the flowers grow tomorrow." Lucy nods. She holds Mommy's hand. They walk back home. Lucy feels sleepy.
"Spring is fun," Lucy whispers. "Yes, it is," Mommy says softly. Lucy closes her eyes. She dreams of flowers, birds, and colorful eggs.
Spring is here, and everything is new. Lucy loves springtime.
