Three characters: a roughly 6-year-old boy with short brown hair and a red-and-white striped t-shirt on the left digging a small hole with a shiny metal shovel; a roughly 5-year-old blond boy in a blue overall crouched center, holding an open seed box and grinning; an adult woman (mother) with chestnut hair in a bun in a yellow polka-dot dress on the right, tilting a light green watering can with a visible drop falling. Scene: a sunny spring garden with textured green lawn, light wood border, colorful flowerbed (red, yellow, blue), a small vegetable patch with dark soil rows, and a pale blue sky with a smiling sun. Action: the children plant seeds in fresh-turned soil—small aligned holes, round seeds gently placed, the watering can sprinkling a fine rain, a small green shoot breaking the soil; bright colors, rounded black outlines, simple proportions and shapes, warm optimistic atmosphere. report a problem with this image

Tommy and Jack were playing in the garden. The sun was shining, and the grass was green. "Look!" said Tommy. "The flowers are waking up!" Jack smiled. "Yes, the flowers are waking up. It's spring!"

Tommy and Jack saw the birds. The birds were singing. "Hello, birds!" said Tommy. "Hello, birds!" said Jack. The birds sang a happy song. "Tweet, tweet!" they sang.

Tommy's mom came outside. "Let's plant some seeds," she said. "Seeds?" asked Jack. "Yes, seeds," said Tommy's mom. "We plant them, and they grow into flowers."

Tommy and Jack dug little holes. "Dig, dig," said Tommy. "Dig, dig," said Jack. They put seeds in the holes. "Seeds go to sleep," said Tommy. "Yes, seeds sleep," said Jack.

Tommy's mom got the watering can. "Let's give the seeds a drink," she said. "Water, water," said Tommy. "Water, water," said Jack. They poured water on the seeds. "Goodnight, seeds!" said Tommy. "Goodnight, seeds!" said Jack.

Every day, Tommy and Jack checked the seeds. One day, little green leaves came up. "Look!" said Tommy. "The seeds are waking up!" Jack clapped his hands. "Yes, the seeds are waking up!"

Tommy and Jack watched the flowers grow. They saw red flowers, yellow flowers, and blue flowers. "So many colors!" said Tommy. "So many colors!" said Jack.

"It's spring magic," said Tommy's mom. "Spring is special."

Tommy and Jack smiled. They loved spring. "Spring is happy," said Tommy. "Spring is happy," said Jack. And every day, they played in the garden, watched the flowers, and listened to the birds sing.
