Little Wolf was in his cozy bed. The room was quiet. But Little Wolf felt scared. The dark was all around. "I don't like the dark," said Little Wolf.
Mama Wolf came in. "Hello, Little Wolf," she said. "The dark is our friend. See the stars? They are twinkling just for you."
Little Wolf looked. The stars were bright and kind. "Do stars like the dark?" he asked.
"Yes," said Mama Wolf. "Stars love the dark. They shine and play. The moon is their friend too."
Little Wolf smiled. "I like stars," he said.
Mama Wolf hugged him. "You are safe, Little Wolf. You are brave."
Little Wolf felt warm inside. He closed his eyes. "The stars will watch me," he said. "I am not scared."
In school, Little Wolf learned a song. "Twinkle, twinkle, little star," he sang. The song made him happy.
His friend, Little Fox, said, "I sing it too! It helps me sleep."
Little Wolf sang with Little Fox. "Together, we are not scared," they said.
At home, Little Wolf got in bed. He looked at the stars. "Hello, stars," he whispered. "I will dream with you."
Little Wolf closed his eyes. The stars twinkled above. Little Wolf was not scared. He was safe and happy.
