Jack, Tom, and Leo are friends. They are almost four. They play at school. Their teacher says, “Today, we talk about being brave at night.”
Jack says, “I feel scared when it is dark.”
Tom nods, “Me too. I do not like the dark.”
Leo smiles, “I have my soft bear at night. My bear helps me.”
The teacher gives Jack a little light. The light glows. She says, “This light is for you. It keeps you safe.”
Tom gets a bedtime story. The teacher says, “Stories help us feel calm.”
Leo shares his bear. “Bear is soft. Bear is here,” says Leo.
At home, Jack turns on his little light. He feels good.
Tom listens to his story. He feels happy.
Leo hugs his bear. He feels safe.
Jack smiles. “I am not scared. I am brave.”
Tom and Leo smile too. The friends are safe and brave together.
