A joyful, curious 2-year-old girl with a round face and short chestnut hair crawls on a colorful rug holding a small shiny red car; a brown teddy named Teddy sits on the bed watching kindly, while a gray tabby cat named Poppy with a pink muzzle paws a small red car under a light wooden chair, gently pushing it; the warm bedroom has pastel walls, a shelf with books and blocks, a circular-patterned rug, a polka-dot blanket and a wooden chair, soft morning light creating a calm, playful scene with light doodles (stars, arrows, tiny pawprints) overlaid to suggest a little investigation. report a problem with this image

Mia wakes up in her cozy bed. Sun comes in. Teddy is there. Mia smiles. She hugs Teddy. Mia looks at her shelf. Where is her red car? Mia likes her red car. Mia wants to play.

Mia looks under her pillow. No red car. Mia looks behind her bear. No red car. Mia asks, “Teddy, did you see my red car?” Teddy is quiet but smiles. Mia giggles.

Mia crawls to the rug. She sees her blue block. She sees her ball. No red car. Mia thinks, “Where did my red car go?” Mia feels curious.

Mia hears a sound. “Click clack.” Mia looks at her chair. She sees her cat, Poppy. Poppy is under the chair. Poppy's tail moves. Mia crawls closer. Mia says, “Hello, Poppy! Do you have my car?”

Poppy meows. Mia sees something red by Poppy's paw. Mia laughs. “There it is!” Mia picks up her red car. Poppy licks her paw. Mia hugs Poppy. “Thank you, Poppy,” says Mia.

Mia drives her red car on the rug. Teddy sits and watches. Poppy jumps on the bed. Mia smiles. She feels happy. She solved the mystery!

Mia claps her hands. “I found my car! Thank you, Teddy. Thank you, Poppy!” Mia hugs Teddy, then Poppy. Mia feels proud.

Sometimes, when things are lost, we look, we ask, and we find—with a little help from our friends.
