Part One: The Three-Step Dance

It was New Year's Eve. The sky was dark, but the house was full of soft, golden light. Mia, a little girl with curly hair and shiny eyes, wore her brightest red socks. She was four years old and loved to dance.

Mia stood in the middle of the living room. She took a big breath. “I will show everyone my special dance, Mia whispered. She called it her Three-Step Dance.

Step one: Mia tapped her toes. Tap, tap, tap! Her feet made a happy sound on the wooden floor.

Step two: Mia spun around. Spin, spin, spin! Her dress twirled like a little blue cloud.

Step three: Mia put her hands in the air and wiggled her fingers. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle! She felt like a firework popping in the sky.

Mia's cat, Pepper, watched with big green eyes. “Meow!” Pepper said.

Mia smiled at Pepper and said, “Do you like my dance?”

Pepper purred. Mia giggled. The room felt warm and safe.

Part Two: The Family Surprise

Mia wanted to show her dance to everyone. She found her daddy in the kitchen, stirring a pot. “Daddy, can you watch my dance?” Mia asked.

Daddy wiped his hands and nodded. “Of course, Mia! Show me your special dance.”

Mia stood tall. She tapped her toes, spun around, and wiggled her fingers. Daddy clapped his hands. “Bravo, Mia! That's a wonderful dance!”

Mummy came in, holding a plate of cookies. “What's all this fun?” she said.

Mia grinned. “It's my Three-Step Dance! Watch!”

Again, Mia tapped, spun, and wiggled. Even Pepper joined in, hopping and pouncing.

Mummy laughed. “You are so creative, Mia. You make any day feel like a party!”

Just then, the doorbell rang. Grandma and Grandpa came in, wearing sparkly hats. “Happy New Year, Mia!” they cheered.

Mia was shy for a moment, but Daddy whispered, “Show them your dance, too.”

So, Mia tapped, spun, and wiggled. Grandma clapped. Grandpa did a silly wiggle, too. Everyone laughed.

Part Three: The Midnight Magic

The clock ticked, and outside, the stars winked. Mia felt sleepy, but she wanted to stay awake for the New Year.

Daddy brought out a box. “Let's open our New Year's Surprise,” he said.

Inside the box were little paper crowns. Everyone put one on. Mia's crown was gold and shiny. She felt like a princess.

Mummy gave everyone a cookie. “A sweet bite for a sweet new year,” she said.

Daddy said, “Now, Mia, will you teach us your Three-Step Dance?”

Mia nodded. She showed them: tap, spin, wiggle! One by one, everyone joined in. The living room filled with happy feet and gentle laughter.

Bong! The clock struck midnight. “Happy New Year!” everyone cheered.

Mia hugged her family. “Can we do the dance every year?” she asked.

Daddy smiled. “Of course, Mia. Your dance is our new family tradition.

Mia felt cozy and loved. She snuggled in Mummy's arms, her gold crown shining softly. Pepper purred on her lap.

As Mia closed her eyes, she whispered, “Happy New Year, world.”

Outside, the stars twinkled, and inside, Mia's heart was full of joy, ready for a bright new year.
