Today is Max's birthday. Max is two. Max is happy.

"Happy birthday, Max!" says Mom. Max claps his hands. His house is full of balloons. Red balloons, blue balloons, and green balloons. Balloons make Max smile.

Max walks to the living room. "Surprise!" says Teddy the bear. Teddy has a party hat. Teddy gives Max a big hug. Max is happy.

Max walks to the kitchen. "Surprise!" says Bella the cat. Bella wears a shiny bow. Bella purrs and rubs Max's leg. Max giggles.

Max walks to the bedroom. "Surprise!" says Grandma. Grandma has a cake. The cake is big and round. There are two candles on the cake. Max loves cake.

"Blow the candles, Max!" says Grandma. Max blows. Puff, puff. The candles go out. Max claps his hands.

"Open your gift, Max!" says Mom. Max opens the gift. It is a shiny red car. The car goes vroom, vroom. Max is very happy.

Max runs back to the living room. Teddy, Bella, and Grandma follow. Max plays with his car. The car goes round and round. Max is happy.

Max looks at Teddy. "Thank you, Teddy," says Max. Max looks at Bella. "Thank you, Bella," says Max. Max looks at Grandma. "Thank you, Grandma," says Max.

Max has a big smile. Max is not far from home. Max is home. Max had a special birthday.

Max is happy. Everyone is happy. Happy birthday, Max!
