Little Max sits on his soft blue mat. He has a big book and a bright red crayon. “Time for homework,” says Max. But oh! What is that? A little green frog jumps on his book!

“Hello, Frog!” says Max. “Ribbit-ribbit!” says Frog.

Max tries to draw a circle, but Frog hops on his crayon. “Silly Frog!” laughs Max. Now there is a bouncy, wiggly line. “That is not a circle, Frog!” giggles Max.

Suddenly, a tiny, fluffy duck waddles over. “Quack-quack!” says Duck. Duck sits on the book. Now Max cannot see the page!

“Excuse me, Duck. I need my book!” says Max. Duck waggles her tail. Frog jumps on Duck. “Ribbit-quack!” they say.

“Homework is funny,” says Max. Max tries again. He draws a sun, but Frog jumps. Duck sneezes. The sun has legs! “Look! My sun can dance!” says Max.

“Dance, sun, dance!” laughs Frog. “Dance, sun, dance!” quacks Duck.

Max claps his hands. He is happy. Homework is silly with friends. “Good night, Frog. Good night, Duck,” says Max. “Good night, homework.”

Frog snuggles. Duck snuggles. Max smiles. Time for sleep.
