In a cozy, little room, there lived a small girl named Lily. Lily loved her room during the day. It was bright and filled with her favorite toys. But when night came, and the light went away, Lily felt a little scared. The room looked different in the dark.
One evening, Lily was in bed, holding her soft teddy bear, Mr. Fluffy. "It's too dark," she whispered to Mr. Fluffy. "I don't like the dark."
Just then, Mommy came in. She sat beside Lily and smiled. "Hello, Lily," Mommy said gently. "It's okay to feel scared. But look, the dark can be friendly. Let's see."
Mommy turned on a small night light. It glowed softly, like a little moon. "See, Lily? It's not so dark now," Mommy said. "The light is here to help."
Lily looked around. The shadows looked like friendly shapes. Her teddy bear looked cozy. "I see Mr. Fluffy," Lily giggled. "He's not scary."
Mommy showed Lily the stars on the ceiling. They glowed softly too. "These stars are here to watch over you," said Mommy. "You are safe and sound."
Lily yawned and snuggled with Mr. Fluffy. "The stars are nice. The light is nice," she said softly.
"Yes, my dear," said Mommy. "The night is nice too. Sleep tight, Lily."
Lily closed her eyes, feeling warm and safe. The dark was not so scary anymore. She had her night light, her stars, and Mr. Fluffy. Lily slept soundly, dreaming sweet dreams in her cozy, little room.
