Mia, an about-8-year-old girl with a round freckled face and chestnut pigtails, smiles bravely at the wheel of a wooden boat while proudly holding a shiny golden shell; nearby Woof, a small light-brown joyful dog wags his tail on the deck, and Pip, a vivid green-and-blue parrot, perches on the mast laughing; the small red-and-white wooden boat has a yellow-striped sail and bold rope lines, set on a calm blue sea with rounded waves, a large gray rock in the background and a sky with a big orange sun and fluffy white clouds; the characters gather around the shell with amazed expressions in a centered composition, bright colors, simple strokes and thick outlines. report a problem with this image

Captain Mia sails her small boat. The sun is big. The sea says “splash, splash.” Her crew is a happy dog, Woof, and a giggly parrot, Pip.

“Let's find a shiny shell!” says Mia. Woof barks, “Woof-woof!” Pip laughs, “Squawk!”

Mia sees a big rock. “Uh-oh,” she says. She taps the wheel. “Turn, turn!” The boat goes “creak, creak.” Mia is brave. The boat goes around the rock. “Yay!” says Woof. “Good job!” says Pip.

Mia sees a crab. The crab waves. “Hello, crab!” says Mia. She drops a snack. “Plop!” The crab is happy. Mia smiles.

A cloud comes. “Rain?” asks Pip. Mia says, “It's okay.” She gets her red hat. Raindrops go “drip, drop.” Mia shares her hat. “Thank you!” says Woof. “Squawk!” says Pip. They all stay dry.

Suddenly, something shiny! “Look!” Mia says. She picks up a golden shell. “Wow!” says Woof. “Pretty!” says Pip.

The sun comes back. The sea goes “swish.” Mia hugs Woof and Pip. They laugh. “Let's go home,” Mia says. “Adventure fun!”

Small acts of kindness and courage make every day special.
