Captain Ben stood on his small ship, the Sunny Spoon. The sea was soft and blue. The sail went flap, flap.

“Crew, ready!” said Ben.

“Aye!” said the crew. They were Ben, a parrot named Pip, and a cat named Mops.

Ben held a map. “Treasure time,” he said, with a wink.

Pip hopped. “Go, go!” said Pip.

Mops purred. “Meow,” said Mops.

The ship moved fast. Ben steered with strong hands. He watched the waves. He felt brave.

Then—splash! A big fish jumped and a little key fell on the deck.

Ben laughed. “Hello, key,” he said.

Pip pecked it. “Shiny!” said Pip.

Ben looked at the map. “We need a key,” he said. “Good luck, crew!”

Soon they saw a tiny island. It had one palm tree and one sand hill.

Ben jumped down. “Step, step,” he said. Mops trotted by his boot. Pip flew low.

On the sand hill sat a small box. It had a lock.

Ben knelt. “Easy,” he said. He put the key in. Turn, turn.

The box opened. Inside were gold coins… and one red apple, and one silly hat with a feather.

Pip wore the hat. “I am captain!” said Pip.

Ben giggled. “You are a funny captain,” he said.

Mops batted a coin. Ping! It rolled and rolled.

“Oh!” said Ben. He ran and caught it. “Good eyes, Mops,” he said.

They sat on the warm sand. Ben shared the apple in small bites.

The sun went down slow. The sea stayed calm. The crew sailed home, singing “Yo-ho-ho” very soft.

Moral: When you stay kind and work as a team, every trip can end in joy.
