Lily is a little girl. Lily loves autumn. One day, Lily says, "Look, Mama! Leaves are red and yellow." Mama smiles and says, "Yes, Lily, it's autumn."
Lily and Mama go to the market. "Pumpkins, Mama! Look!" Lily points. "Yes, Lily. Let's choose a pumpkin," Mama says.
At home, Lily washes the pumpkin. "Water is splashy!" she giggles. Mama says, "Now, we cut the pumpkin."
Lily watches. "Oh, orange inside!" she says. Mama nods, "Yes, and seeds too."
Lily and Mama cook. Lily stirs the pot. "Mix, mix," Lily sings. "Smells good!" Mama says, "That's pumpkin soup."
They sit and eat. "Yummy soup, Mama," Lily says. "Yes, autumn soup is yummy," Mama agrees.
The next day, Lily sees apples. "Red apples, Mama! Can we pick them?" Lily asks. "Yes, let's pick apples," Mama says.
Lily picks apples. "One, two, three," she counts. "Good apples, Lily," Mama says.
Back home, they make apple pie. "Roll the dough," Mama says. Lily rolls it. "It's soft," Lily giggles.
They add apples. "Sweet apples, Mama," Lily says. "Yes, sweet for pie," Mama says.
The pie bakes. "Smell the pie!" Lily says. "Delicious smell," Mama says.
They eat pie. "Mmm, tasty!" Lily says. "Warm and tasty," Mama says with a smile.
Lily yawns. "It's bedtime, Mama," she says. "Yes, time to sleep," Mama says softly.
Lily snuggles in bed. "I love autumn, Mama," Lily whispers. "Autumn is special, Lily," Mama whispers back.
Lily closes her eyes. "Goodnight, Mama," she says. "Goodnight, Lily," Mama says.
Autumn dreams come. Lily smiles. Leaves fall gently, the night is calm.
