Tommy walks in the park. The air feels cool. “Look, Mommy! Leaves fall down,” says Tommy. Red leaves, yellow leaves, brown leaves. They swirl and twirl all around. Tommy picks a big, soft leaf. “So pretty,” says Tommy. Mommy smiles.
Crunch, crunch go Tommy's shoes. Leaves crunch under his feet. “Crunch, crunch,” laughs Tommy. Squirrels run and jump. “Hello, squirrel!” says Tommy. The squirrel runs with a nut.
Tommy sees a big tree. “Tree is changing,” says Tommy. “Leaves go down. Tree gets ready for sleep.” Mommy nods. “Yes, trees rest in autumn.”
Tommy feels the wind. “Wind is cold, Mommy,” says Tommy. Mommy gives him his hat. “Warm hat,” says Tommy. “Thank you, Mommy.”
Tommy sits with Mommy on a bench. He hugs his leaf. “Autumn is nice,” says Tommy. “Leaves, wind, hats, and hugs.” Mommy hugs Tommy. “Yes, Tommy. Autumn is very nice.”
