Mia, Joy, and Luna are three little girls. They are almost one. It is fall. The air feels cool on their cheeks.
They go out with Dad and Mom. Mia sits in a small stroller. Joy holds Mom's hand. Luna sits in Dad's arms. The street is quiet.
“Look,” says Mom. “Leaves.”
Leaves fall down. Red. Yellow. Brown. Mia taps one with her soft hand. It is dry. It makes a tiny sound.
Joy points. “More!”
Luna smiles. “Leaf.”
They walk to the park. The sun is warm. The wind is light. A pile of leaves rests by a tree. Dad puts Luna down on the grass. Mom kneels close.
“Touch,” says Mom.
Mia rolls near the pile in her stroller. Joy sits and pats the leaves. Luna picks one leaf and gives it to Mia. Mia holds it tight.
A leaf gets stuck on Joy's shoe. Joy looks down. “Uh-oh,” she says.
Mom brushes it off. “All done,” she says. Joy giggles.
They see a small pumpkin by the path. Dad lets each girl tap it. It feels smooth and cool. They all wave bye-bye to the park.
Back home, they sip warm milk. Mom reads a short book. The girls blink slow.
Moral: Little fall walks feel best when we share, stay close, and enjoy small things.
