A 2-year-old girl with a round face and chestnut pigtails, big bright eyes, reassured and smiling, sits on her bed in star-patterned pajamas holding a small plush comforter; a woman (mother, ~30) with long loose hair and a gentle smile kneels by the bed and turns on a round nightlight on the bedside table, looking at the child tenderly. The small, cozy room has pale blue walls, friendly animal posters, a colorful duvet, a soft rug, a shelf with books and stuffed animals, and the warm orange glow of the nightlight casting soft shadows that turn scary shapes into playful forms. The composition centers on the bed and nightlight with a slightly elevated angle to show expressions and shadows; graphic style: saturated but gentle colors, clean 90s cartoon outlines, simple textures, and exaggerated friendly expressions. report a problem with this image

Lily sat on her bed. The room was dark.

“Mommy, I'm scared,” she said softly.

Mommy came in. “What's wrong, Lily?”

“It's too dark,” Lily whispered.

Mommy smiled. “Let's turn on the night light.”

Lily watched the light glow.

“See? It's not so scary now,” Mommy said.

Lily nodded. “The shadows look funny!”

“Yes, they do!” Mommy laughed.

Lily felt happy. “Thank you, Mommy.”

“Goodnight, sweet girl,” Mommy said.

“Goodnight!” Lily replied, smiling.

The darkness was not so scary anymore.
