In a bright, sunny park, a little boy named Max walked with his mommy. The trees were orange, red, and yellow. “Look, Mommy! The leaves!” Max said.
“Yes, Max! It's autumn!” Mommy replied, smiling.
Max touched a leaf. “Soft!” he said. He picked it up and looked closely. “Yellow!”
“Very nice!” said Mommy. “Let's find more leaves!”
Max walked fast. He saw a big pile of leaves. “Wow!” he shouted. “Big leaves!”
“Let's jump!” Mommy said.
Max jumped into the pile. “Boom!” The leaves flew everywhere! Max laughed. “More, Mommy! More!”
Mommy jumped too. “Whee!” she laughed.
Suddenly, Max saw a squirrel. It was busy collecting acorns. “Look, Mommy! A squirrel!” he pointed.
“Yes, sweetie! The squirrel is getting ready for winter,” Mommy explained.
Max giggled. “Squirrel funny! It's like a little furry friend!”
After playing, Max sat down. He held a leaf in his small hands. “Cool leaf,” he said softly.
“Autumn is special, isn't it?” Mommy asked.
“Yes, Mommy! Colors! Leaves! Squirrel!” Max clapped his hands.
Mommy hugged Max tight. “You are so smart, my little boy.”
Max smiled big. “I love autumn! More leaves tomorrow?”
“Yes, Max! More leaves tomorrow!” Mommy replied.
The sun was setting, painting the sky orange. Max looked up. “Goodbye, sun!” he waved.
“Goodbye, Max!” Mommy said.
They walked home, happy and full of autumn joy. “See you tomorrow, leaves!” Max whispered.
