Part 1: The New Year's Eve Surprise

Little Benny was a cheerful three-year-old boy with bright blue eyes and curly hair. On the last day of the year, he woke up bursting with excitement. Today was New Year's Eve!

“Mom! Dad!” Benny shouted, bouncing on his bed. “Is it time for the party?”

Benny's mom peeked into his room. “Not yet, sweetie! But soon! We have lots to do!”

Benny jumped out of bed. “What are we doing? Can I help?”

His dad walked in, holding a shiny balloon. “How about we decorate the house?”

“Yay! Balloons!” Benny cheered. He loved balloons. They were so colorful and fun!

Benny's mom handed him a string of twinkling lights. “You can help us hang these!”

Benny took the lights and clumsily draped them over a chair. “Look, Mom! I made a light chair!”

His mom giggled. “That's a creative chair, Benny! But let's put them around the windows, too.”

“Okay!” Benny laughed, rushing to the window. He stretched and stretched, trying to reach the top.

“Almost there!” he said, his little arms reaching high. “I can do it!”

With a big jump, Benny managed to hang the lights. “Ta-da! Sparkly window!”

“Wow! It's beautiful!” Dad exclaimed, giving Benny a high-five.

Benny felt proud. “Can we eat now? I'm hungry!”

Part 2: The Silly Snacks

“Of course!” Mom replied. “Let's make some New Year's snacks!”

Benny clapped his hands. “What are we making?”

“We're making funny sandwiches,” Dad said, pulling out some bread. “Let's see what shapes we can make!”

Benny's eyes grew wide. “Shapes? Like dinosaurs?”

“Exactly!” Dad laughed. “Grab the cookie cutters!”

Benny found a dinosaur and a star. “I want a dinosaur sandwich!”

“Great choice!” Dad said, pressing the dinosaur cutter into the bread. “How about you, Mom?”

“I'll make a star!” Mom said, cutting her bread. “And Benny, you can help me with the decorations!”

Benny took a jar of colorful sprinkles. “Sprinkles! Yay!”

He carefully put sprinkles on the sandwiches. Some landed on the floor, and Benny giggled. “Oops! Sprinkles for the floor!”

“Maybe we should save some for our bellies,” Mom said with a smile.

“Good idea!” Benny nodded.

As they finished making their sandwiches, the doorbell rang. “Who could that be?” Dad asked.

“Let's see!” Benny shouted, running to the door.

It was Benny's best friend, Lucy, wearing a big party hat. “Happy New Year's Eve, Benny!”

“Lucy! You're just in time for snacks!” Benny exclaimed, pulling her inside.

“Yummy! What did you make?” Lucy asked, her eyes sparkling.

“We made dinosaur and star sandwiches!” Benny said proudly.

“Can we eat them now?” Lucy bounced on her toes.

“Let's have a snack party!” Benny cheered.

Part 3: The Countdown Fun

After they devoured the funny sandwiches, Mom said, “It's almost time for the countdown! Who wants to help me get the balloons?”

“Me! Me!” Benny and Lucy yelled together.

They rushed to the living room, where the colorful balloons floated in the air. “Let's pop them at midnight!” Lucy giggled.

“Great idea!” Benny nodded, his eyes wide with excitement.

“Now, let's get ready for the countdown!” Dad announced. “We have to wait until the clock strikes twelve.”

“How long is that?” Benny asked, looking at the clock.

“Just a little bit longer,” Mom said. “But we can dance while we wait!”

“Dance party!” Benny shouted. He and Lucy started to twirl and wiggle.

“Shake your sillies out!” Lucy sang, shaking her arms and legs.

Benny laughed and joined her. They spun around in circles, giggling and falling onto the soft carpet.

Finally, the clock started to chime. “Ten… nine… eight…” Dad counted down.

Benny and Lucy jumped up and down. “Seven… six… five…”

“Get ready!” Mom said, holding a balloon in each hand. “Three… two… one… Happy New Year!”

“POP!” went the balloons as they burst into confetti. Benny and Lucy squealed with joy.

“Look at all the sparkles!” Benny laughed, catching a piece of confetti in his hand. “It's like magic!”

“Best New Year ever!” Lucy cheered, and they both giggled as they celebrated together.

And in that moment, Benny felt very happy, ready for all the adventures the New Year would bring!
