Lily woke up on her birthday. The sun was shining, and the birds were chirping. But Lily felt a little sad. She looked around her room. "Where are my balloons?" she asked softly.
Lily's room was decorated with colorful streamers. There were balloons everywhere! Red, blue, and yellow balloons floated above her bed. “Wow!” Lily giggled. “So many balloons!”
Lily walked to the kitchen. There was a big cake on the table. “Happy Birthday, Lily!” said her mommy. Mommy wore a bright smile. The cake had pink frosting and sparkly candles. “Yummy!” Lily clapped her hands.
But still, Lily felt a little sad. “I want to play,” she said with a tiny frown.
“Let's play!” said her daddy, popping up from behind the door. He held a big, fluffy teddy bear. “This is Mr. Cuddles! He wants to play with you!”
Lily's eyes lit up. “Teddy bear!” she squealed. She hugged Mr. Cuddles tight. “Thank you, Daddy!”
Next, Mommy brought out a shiny gift. “This is for you, Lily!” she said, handing her a bright blue box. Lily opened it quickly. Inside was a colorful puzzle! “Wow, a puzzle!” she giggled.
Lily and her daddy started to play with the puzzle. They laughed and smiled. “More fun!” Lily cheered.
With every surprise, Lily's smile grew bigger. The balloons danced in the air, the cake sparkled, and Mr. Cuddles was the best friend ever.
“Happy Birthday, Lily!” they cheered together.
Lily felt warm and happy. “I love my birthday!” she said. And she really did!
