Little Tom wakes up. Sun is warm. He is one year old. He claps his hands. Mom sings a soft song. Dad puts on a small hat. "Look, Tom," says Mom. "It is Easter day."
They walk to the yard. The grass is green. Flowers nod. Small eggs sit in a nest. The eggs are pink, blue, yellow, and green. Tom points. He giggles. A soft bunny hops near. The bunny is white and kind. It sniffs Tom's shoe. Tom pats the bunny. The bunny stays.
Mom shows a basket. She says, "We will hide eggs." Dad hides eggs near a tree. Tom watches. He crawls to a bright egg. He holds it tight. It is warm from the sun. He drops a tiny laugh. His laugh rings like a bell.
They paint one egg with a big dot. Tom touches the dot. His hands get a small splash of color. Mom wipes his hands with a smile. Dad claps. They all sit on a rug. They share a small cake. Tom tastes and smiles wide.
At dusk they hang a small light on the porch. The light twinkles like a kind star. Tom waves at the light. He feels safe and loved.
Always share joy and hugs with friends on Easter.
