A joyful, wide-eyed 2-year-old blond boy with chubby cheeks holds a small blue wicker basket of colored eggs while his smiling mother (about 30, brown hair in a ponytail, wearing a striped apron) holds a bowl of red dye at his right; the calm father (about 32, short beard, green polo) stands behind pointing at an egg hidden under a leaf to the left. Nearby a fluffy yellow chick in a nest by a white wooden fence peeps at the boy and a light brown rabbit with a pink nose sniffs near a tuft of orange carrots in the foreground. Scene: a sunny garden with green lawn, red and yellow tulips, a gray stone path and a small white fence in the background — a bright, colorful Easter egg hunt rendered with simple shapes suitable for a felt-board illustration. report a problem with this image

A small boy wakes with a bright smile. He is four. He runs to the yard. The sun is warm. The grass is soft. Birds sing. Mom has a big box of eggs. Dad brings a bowl of dye. "Red," says the boy. "Blue," says Mom. They dip eggs with care. The colors glow. He laughs. A chick peeps in a nest by the fence. The boy shares a crumb. The chick hops and peeps more.

They put eggs in a small wicker basket. It has a blue bow. The boy holds the handle. He goes on a hunt with his dad and mom. A garden path has hidden eggs. He finds one under a leaf. He finds one by a stone. He claps. Each egg is bright and warm like a tiny ball of sun. A blue egg, a red egg, a green egg, a yellow egg. A soft breeze brings the scent of flowers. A little bunny hops by and sniffs a carrot. The boy smiles and waves. The bunny wags its nose and hops away.

At the end, they sit on a blanket. They eat a small cake and sip milk. The boy hugs his basket. He feels full of joy. He feels safe and loved.

Moral: Sharing joy makes every bright day even brighter.
