A joyful, chubby 2-year-old girl with short curly light-brown hair and bright round eyes holds a small red-painted brush and dots blue paint onto a white egg; her smiling ~30-year-old mother with tied-up hair and a colorful paint-stained apron leans in from the left offering a pot of yellow paint, while a bearded ~30-year-old father in a green sweater sits at the rear right playing a small wooden guitar and singing, and a clapping ~1-year-old little brother in a high chair with an animal bib watches a painted egg before him; the warm, bright kitchen features a light wood table with a polka-dot cloth, vivid paint pots, plates of colored eggs, a round cake with pink icing, an open window with a breeze and mini flags, and a plush bunny on a chair—an intimate, welcoming family Easter egg-painting moment centered on the girl with the glowing egg. report a problem with this image

Maya wakes to sun and song. She is four. She runs to the kitchen. Her mom has paint and eggs. "Look," says Mom. "Let us paint."

Maya dips a brush in red. She hums. She dips in blue. The egg gets dots and lines. It is bright. Her dad makes soft music. Her little brother claps. They laugh. The house smells like cake. A small bunny toy sits on the chair. Maya hugs it.

They hide eggs in the yard. The grass is cool. Maya finds a blue egg under a leaf. She finds a yellow egg by a pot. Her brother finds a green egg near a bag. They share each find. They swap eggs and smiles. "Share," says Mom. "Share makes joy," says Dad.

A gentle breeze moves the flags. Birds sing. Maya holds all her eggs close. She feels warm. The family sits on a rug. They eat cake with jam. They sip warm milk. The sun sets soft and kind. Maya lays her head on Mom's lap. Her eyes grow small. She is calm and happy.

Moral: Small acts of joy and sharing make bright days.
