Tommy was two years old. Today was a special day. He was going to the circus for the first time!
“Wow!” said Tommy, as he saw the big, colorful tent. “Look at all the lights!”
Inside the tent, there were clowns. They had big shoes and red noses. “Hi, Tommy!” said a clown. “Do you want to juggle?”
Tommy said, “Yes!” He picked up some soft balls. They were squishy and funny. He tossed one up. It landed on his head! The clown laughed. “You are a funny juggler!”
Tommy giggled. He loved the clowns. Next, he saw a magician. The magician wore a tall hat. “Hello, Tommy!” said the magician. “Do you want to help me?”
“Yes, please!” said Tommy, hopping with joy.
The magician said, “Watch this!” He waved his wand, and a rabbit popped out of his hat. “Ta-da!”
Tommy clapped his hands. “Can I try?” he asked.
“Of course!” said the magician. Tommy waved the wand. Nothing happened. He waved it again. Still nothing! The rabbit yawned and fell asleep.
“Oops!” said Tommy. The magician laughed. “You made the rabbit sleepy!”
Tommy laughed too. “I want to make it jump!”
The magician said, “Let's tickle it!” They both tickled the rabbit. The rabbit woke up and jumped! “Hooray!” cheered Tommy.
Then, they saw the tightrope walker. “Can you walk on the rope?” asked Tommy.
The tightrope walker smiled. “I can! Can you walk like a duck?”
“Quack, quack!” said Tommy, waddling like a duck. The tightrope walker giggled and almost slipped!
At the end of the day, Tommy waved goodbye. “Thank you, circus friends!” he said.
“Come back soon!” they shouted.
Tommy felt happy. He had fun at the circus. Tommy couldn't wait to tell everyone about his day!
