Benny Bear puts on his big red hat. He feels happy today. “It's circus time!” he says, with a big smile. Benny tiptoes behind the long, bright curtain. He peeks outside. The lights shine. The music plays.
Pop! Out hops Rabbit Rosie. Rosie rolls a ball with her nose. “Look at me, Benny!” she says. “Wow!” says Benny. Rosie giggles and bounces off to the backstage tent.
Benny wants to show his trick. He climbs on his tiny bike. His paws are big, the bike is small. “Pedal, pedal, pedal!” he says. Benny wobbles a little—oops! The bike goes round and round. His hat falls over his eyes. The crowd says, “Ooooh!” Benny peeks out from under his hat and laughs. The crowd laughs too.
Clown Coco runs by with a big stack of pies. “Careful, Coco!” Benny says. Coco trips on his big shoes. Splat! Pies go everywhere: On Coco's nose, on Benny's hat, on Rosie's ball. Everyone laughs so much their tummies jiggle.
Lion Leo steps in, wearing a tutu. “Ta-da!” Leo says. The music stops. Everyone claps and cheers. Rosie, Coco, Leo, and Benny dance in a big silly circle.
The curtain falls. Benny's friends all hug. They feel happy and safe together.
