Little Tom was waiting for Christmas. "Christmas soon?" Tom asked Mommy. "Yes, Tom!" Mommy smiled. Tom clapped his hands, "Yay! Christmas!"
In his school, it was busy and bright. There were shiny lights, red and green. "Pretty lights!" Tom said to his friend, Lily. Lily nodded, "Yes, pretty!"
But oh no! The big Christmas tree fell. Tom gasped, "Oh no! Tree down!" Lily said, "Tree help!"
Tom and Lily called the teacher, Miss Joy. "Miss Joy, tree down!" they said. Miss Joy smiled, "Let's fix it, Tom and Lily."
They all pushed and pulled. Up went the tree, tall again. "Tree up!" Tom cheered. "Good job!" Lily clapped.
"Thank you, Tom and Lily," said Miss Joy. "You're Christmas helpers!"
Tom grinned, "Christmas saved!" Mommy hugged him tight, "My little helper!"
And Christmas came, full of cheer. Tom whispered, "Merry Christmas, tree!" And the tree twinkled, happy.
