Snowflakes fall softly. Max, a little boy with rosy cheeks, looks outside. “Wow!” says Max. “It's Christmas!” He jumps “hop, hop!” in his warm red socks.
Max hears “ding-ding!” It is the bell on his Christmas tree. The tree is big, green, and full of shiny stars. Max touches a ball. “Bing!” The ball shines! Max smiles.
Mummy helps Max put a soft bear under the tree. “Hello, bear!” says Max. The bear is furry and cozy. Max gives bear a hug. “Snuggle-snuggle!” giggles Max.
Outside, the snow goes “swish, swish!” Max and Mummy put on hats. They go out, and Max sees the snow. He makes tiny footprints, “step-step,” in the white snow. Max laughs. The snow feels cold, but Max is warm.
Back inside, Max drinks warm milk. He sits by the fire with Mummy and bear. The fire goes “crackle-crackle!” Max closes his eyes and listens. Mummy hums a soft song. Bear sits on Max's lap.
Suddenly, Max hears “tap-tap!” at the window. It is a robin! The bird sings “tweet-tweet!” Max waves, “Hello, bird!” The bird hops and flies away.
Max feels happy. The lights twinkle. The room is full of love. Max hugs Mummy and bear.
Christmas is special when we share hugs, smiles, and warm wishes with those we love.
