The Brave Little Hen
Once upon a time, in a sunny little farm, there lived a brave little hen named Henny. Henny was bright yellow, with feathers as soft as clouds and a beak that shone like a tiny sun. She loved to cluck and explore her world.
One day, while pecking at the ground, Henny heard a rustling sound. “What's that?” she asked, tilting her head. Out popped a fluffy rabbit named Benny. “Hello, Henny! I was hiding!” he giggled, his ears bouncing like spring flowers.
“What were you hiding from?” Henny asked, curious.
“A big, scary fox!” Benny replied, his little nose twitching. “He wants to catch me!”
“Oh no!” Henny said, her heart racing. “We must be brave!”
Just then, a deep voice rumbled. “Did someone say my name?” It was Freddy the fox, with a shiny coat that glinted in the sun.
“Run, Benny!” Henny shouted. But Benny was scared. “What do we do?” he squeaked.
“Let's be clever!” Henny clucked. “Freddy, you can't catch us if we're fast and smart!”
Freddy frowned. “What do you mean?”
Henny took a deep breath. “We will hide! You can't find us!”
Freddy scratched his head. “I like games!”
Henny smiled. “Let's play hide and seek! But no catching!”
Freddy thought for a moment, then said, “Okay! I will count!”
As Freddy closed his eyes, Henny and Benny dashed behind a big red barn. They held their breath, giggling softly.
“Ready or not, here I come!” Freddy called. He searched everywhere—under the hay, behind the trees—until he finally gave up.
“Where are you?” he asked, looking puzzled.
Henny peeked out. “We're here! You can't catch us because we are clever!”
Freddy laughed. “You are too smart for me!”
From that day on, Henny, Benny, and even Freddy played together every day. They learned that being brave and clever was better than being scared.
And so, the little hen taught her friends that friendship and courage can turn fear into fun.
