Ladybird Lucy woke up in the soft, green grass. “Hello, sun!” said Lucy. The sun smiled back, warm and round. Lucy's tiny wings went flutter-flutter-flutter. She loved her red spots. “Hop, hop!” A little bunny named Ben bounced by. “Hello, Lucy!” said Ben. “Let's find the shiny pebble!” Lucy smiled. “Yes, let's go!”
They walked under big leaves—drip, drop, drip!—and over smooth stones—tip-tap, tip-tap! Suddenly, they heard “chirp-chirp!” It was Daisy, the little bird. “Can I help too?” she said. “Yes!” said Lucy and Ben.
The friends looked here and there. “Peek-a-boo!” said Lucy, lifting a leaf. No pebble. Ben sniffed with his nose—sniff, sniff! Daisy peeped in the grass—tweet-tweet! At last, Lucy saw a sparkle. “Look! Plink-plonk!” She picked up the shiny pebble. “We did it!” said Ben. “Hooray!” sang Daisy.
Lucy gave the pebble to Ben. “Friends share,” said Lucy. They all giggled and sat together, happy in the sun.
Friends make every adventure more fun.
