A small gray mouse with bright round eyes and fluffy fur stands on its hind legs, kindly reaching for a golden key as it gently asks a large beige snail with a pearly shell, resting on the key, to share it; a tiny sparkling blue fairy in a light dress floats nearby with hands together, a red-brown robin perches on a low branch singing, and a big-eyed green frog on a rock by a stream makes a small splash — all in a soft pastel mossy clearing under a pale-leaved tree at late-afternoon light, warm and cooperative. report a problem with this image

Milly Mouse lived in a soft moss nook near a bright, singing brook. One sunny day, a silver bell rang from the Fairy Tree.

“Ding-ding! Help, please!” said a tiny blue fairy.

Milly ran on quick feet. “I come! I come!” she said.

At the Fairy Tree, a golden key lay under a leaf. A fat snail sat on it like a round stone.

“I sit,” said Snail. “I rest.”

“We need the key,” said Milly. “May we share?”

Snail blinked slow. “I like to sit. I like to stay.”

A red robin hopped near. “I can sing!” he said. “Tweet-tweet!”

A frog by the brook bowed. “I can jump!” he said. “Hop-hop!”

Milly had a small plan, neat as a bow. “Robin, sing. Frog, jump. I will be kind.”

Robin sang a merry tune. Frog jumped and made a little splash. Snail looked up. His eyes grew wide.

“Oh! Fun!” said Snail.

Milly smiled. “Come see, Snail. Sit by me.”

Snail slid off the key. “I come,” he said. “I share.”

Milly took the key and gave it to the fairy. The Fairy Tree door clicked open. Inside was a warm jar of honey cakes for all.

“Brave Milly!” said the fairy. “Wise Milly!” said the frog. “Nice Milly!” said the robin.

They ate, they laughed, and the bell rang sweet again.

A gentle heart and a kind plan help friends share and solve small troubles.
