The School Fair
Once upon a time, in a cheerful little village, there was a small school. The school was filled with happy children who loved to play and learn together. In this school, there were four special friends: Lily, Tom, Ben, and Mia. They were all three years old and enjoyed every moment they spent at school.
One sunny morning, their teacher, Miss Emma, clapped her hands and said, "Children, we are going to have a School Fair tomorrow! There will be games, snacks, and lots of fun. Who's excited?"
All the children cheered with joy. Lily's eyes sparkled as she said, "I can't wait to play all the games, Miss Emma!"
Tom, with his cheeky grin, added, "I want to win lots of prizes!"
Miss Emma smiled warmly and continued, "Remember, it is important to play fair and tell the truth. Lies can make people sad. We all want to have a good time, don't we?"
The children nodded eagerly. But Tom was curious and asked, "Miss Emma, what happens if someone tells a lie?"
Miss Emma replied gently, "Well, Tom, if someone tells a lie, it can hurt others' feelings and make them unhappy. It's always best to be honest, so everyone can trust each other."
Day of the Fair
The next morning, the school was buzzing with excitement. The playground was full of colorful balloons and stalls with games and prizes. Lily, Tom, Ben, and Mia couldn't wait to start the fun.
They ran to the first stall, which had a game called "Ring Toss." The goal was to throw rings onto colorful sticks. Ben went first, and he giggled as he tossed his ring. It missed, but he tried again and again until he finally got it. "I did it!" he laughed.
Tom watched carefully. He wanted to win a prize, too. When it was his turn, he threw his ring, but it missed. He tried again, but it missed once more. Tom felt a little disappointed.
Then, he had an idea. He turned to his friends and said, "I won! I got it on the stick!" But Lily, Ben, and Mia had seen that Tom's ring didn't land on the stick.
Mia gently said, "But, Tom, we saw it didn't go on."
Tom's cheeks turned pink. He felt a little bad. Lily patted his back and said, "It's okay, Tom. You can try again. We believe in you."
Tom took a deep breath. He knew his friends were right. "I'm sorry," he said. "I didn't get it on the stick. I told a lie."
Learning to Be Honest
Miss Emma saw what happened and came over. She smiled kindly and said, "Tom, thank you for telling the truth. That was very brave of you."
Tom smiled a little, feeling better. Miss Emma continued, "We can all make mistakes, but it's important to be honest, so we can trust each other."
Ben chimed in, "Let's try again together! We can cheer for you, Tom."
With his friends cheering him on, Tom tried the ring toss again. He focused hard, and this time, the ring landed perfectly on the stick! "I did it!" Tom shouted, jumping with joy.
His friends clapped and laughed, happy to see Tom smiling. Tom felt proud, not just because he won, but because he learned how important it is to tell the truth.
As the sun began to set, the School Fair came to an end. Miss Emma gathered the children and said, "I am so proud of all of you. You played fair, and you were honest. You are all winners today."
Lily, Tom, Ben, and Mia knew that Miss Emma was right. They had fun, but they also learned that being honest makes everyone feel happy and safe.
And from that day on, the four friends promised to always tell the truth, because honesty made their friendship strong and full of joy.
