The Busy Playground
In a bright and sunny village, there lived a little girl named Lily. Lily was three years old, and she loved playing in the park. One morning, Lily ran to her mother, ready to start her day.
“Mommy,” Lily said, “can I go to the playground with my friend Max?”
“Of course, Lily,” Mommy replied with a smile. “But remember, always be honest and tell the truth.”
Lily nodded and dashed to the playground, where Max was waiting.
The Secret Adventure
At the playground, Lily and Max loved climbing, swinging, and pretending to be pirates. Today, they decided to build a big sandcastle. As they played, Lily found a small shiny stone.
“Look, Max!” said Lily. “I found treasure!”
Max looked at the stone and said, “Wow, that's so cool!”
Later, Max asked, “Lily, can I take the stone home to show my mom?”
Lily wanted to keep it, so she said, “Um, I think the stone is magic. It can only stay in the park.”
Max was a little sad but said, “Oh, okay.”
Learning the Truth
As the sun began to set, it was time to go home. Lily's mommy came to pick her up. “Did you have a fun day?” Mommy asked.
“Yes, Mommy!” Lily said. But she felt a little funny inside for not telling Max the truth.
The next day, at playgroup, Miss Anna, their teacher, had a special talk. “Today, we will learn about truth,” she said gently. “Can anyone tell me why telling the truth is important?”
Lily raised her hand. “Because it makes friends happy?”
“Yes, Lily,” Miss Anna replied warmly. “Telling the truth helps keep our hearts happy, too. It helps everyone trust us.”
Lily thought about her day at the playground and felt a tiny tug at her heart.
Making It Right
After playgroup, Lily saw Max and went over to him. “Max,” she said softly, “the stone isn't really magic. I just wanted to keep it.”
Max smiled. “That's okay, Lily. I'm happy you told me.”
Lily felt her heart fill with warmth. She realized how good it felt to be honest.
That evening, Lily talked to her mommy. “Mommy, today I learned that truth is important, and it makes my heart feel good.”
Mommy hugged Lily tight. “That's wonderful, Lily. I'm proud of you.”
Lily smiled, happy and warm, knowing that telling the truth made her friendships stronger, and her days even brighter.
