Three 7-year-old girls in a small afternoon park: center girl with blonde pigtails in a yellow polka-dot dress, hand on her chest, shyly admitting she made up the imaginary unicorn; left girl with brown braids in a green sweater crouched by a bush, curious; right girl with short black hair in a blue dress standing on tiptoe by a shiny red slide, hands clasped, reassuring; textured paper-collage style with green torn-paper grass, layered leafy trees, simple colorful flowers, pale pink sunset sky, warm contrasting colors and clear, readable expressions and gestures. report a problem with this image

In a sunny little village, there were three best friends named Lily, Mia, and Ella. They loved to play in the big green park every day. The park was full of tall trees, colorful flowers, and a shiny slide that sparkled in the sunlight. The girls thought the park was magical.

One bright morning, as they ran to the park, Lily stopped and said, "I have a secret! Yesterday, I saw a unicorn in the park!" Her eyes were big and shiny like marbles.

Mia and Ella gasped. "A unicorn?" they asked together, their voices full of wonder.

"Yes!" Lily nodded. "It had a rainbow tail and it was eating the flowers."

Mia clapped her hands. "Wow! I want to see the unicorn too."

Ella, always curious, asked, "Can we find it today?"

Lily felt a little funny inside. She hadn't really seen a unicorn. She just wanted to say something exciting. But her friends were so happy, she didn't know what to say.

As they reached the park, Mia and Ella started looking for the unicorn. They peeked behind the trees and under the bushes. "Unicorn, where are you?" they called.

Lily watched them search. She felt a little twist in her tummy. She knew there was no unicorn. She wanted to tell the truth but felt shy.

While they played on the slide, Lily thought about it. She remembered how her mommy said, "It's okay to make mistakes. We can always tell the truth."

So, Lily took a deep breath and said, "Mia, Ella, I need to tell you something."

They stopped and looked at her with big, trusting eyes.

"I didn't really see a unicorn," Lily said quietly. "I just made it up."

Mia blinked. "Oh," she said.

Ella smiled and said, "That's okay, Lily. We all make things up sometimes."

Mia nodded. "Yeah, and we still had fun looking for it!"

Lily smiled back, feeling her tummy relax. "Thank you," she said. "I'm glad we're friends."

The girls held hands and skipped around the park, feeling happy. They played on the swings, laughing and chatting. "Let's pretend the swings are a spaceship!" Mia said.

"Yes, and we're flying to the moon," Ella added.

Lily giggled. "And on the moon, there are friendly moon rabbits!" she said.

Together, they soared high on the swings, imagining the moon and its rabbits. As the sun started to set, the sky turned pink and orange like a painting. The girls knew it was time to go home.

As they walked back, Mia said, "I'm glad we have each other."

Ella nodded, "Me too. Friends are the best."

Lily felt warm inside. "And telling the truth makes everything better," she said.

The three friends hugged and promised to meet again tomorrow for more adventures. As they waved goodbye, Lily felt proud. She learned that telling the truth was important and that her friends would always understand.

With happy hearts, they went home, dreaming of new stories and the fun they would have together the next day.
