Tommy the little boy was very happy. It was summer! Mommy said, "Let's go to the big park today!" Tommy clapped his hands. "Yes, yes!" he said.
At the park, Tommy saw big trees. "Wow, so tall!" he said. Mommy said, "Let's find some flowers." Tommy nodded. "Look! Yellow flowers," he said. "Pretty yellow flowers," Mommy said.
Tommy saw a slide. "Can I go, Mommy?" he asked. "Yes, Tommy," Mommy smiled. "Wee!" Tommy laughed going down the slide. "Again, again!" he said.
Then, Tommy heard a sound. "What is it, Mommy?" he asked. "Look, it's a bird," Mommy said. "Hello, bird!" Tommy waved. "Chirp, chirp," said the bird.
Tommy and Mommy sat on the grass. "Time for picnic!" Mommy said. "Yummy," Tommy said. They ate sandwiches. "Mmm, tasty," said Tommy.
Suddenly, Tommy saw children. "Can I play?" he asked. "Yes, go play," Mommy said. Tommy ran to them. "Hi, I'm Tommy," he said. "Hi, Tommy," they waved. They played ball. "Catch, Tommy!" they shouted. "Got it!" Tommy laughed.
The sun began to set. "Time to go home," Mommy said. "Bye, friends!" Tommy waved. "Bye, Tommy!" they said.
In the car, Tommy yawned. "Fun day, Mommy," he said. "Yes, summer is fun," Mommy said.
Tommy closed his eyes. "Dream of more play tomorrow," Mommy whispered. Tommy smiled. "Yes, tomorrow," he said. Then, he slept.
