Tommy is a little boy. Tommy is two years old. Today, Tommy is at home with his mommy. He is playing with his red car. Vroom, vroom! Tommy likes his car.
Suddenly, Tommy's friend Mia comes to play. Mia sees Tommy's red car. Mia says, “Can I play with the car, please?” Tommy looks at his red car. Tommy feels funny inside. He does not want Mia to play with his car. Tommy feels a little sad. Tommy feels a little mad. Tommy feels something new.
“That is my car,” Tommy says. “I want to play.”
Tommy's mommy comes. She hugs Tommy. “It is nice to share, Tommy,” she says softly.
Tommy shakes his head. “I do not want to share,” he says.
Mia looks at Tommy. Mia feels sad, too. “Can we play together?” Mia asks.
Tommy thinks. Tommy feels his feelings. “I am a little mad. I feel funny,” he says.
Mommy smiles. “That feeling is called jealous. It is okay to feel jealous,” she says.
Tommy looks at Mia. Mia smiles. “Let's play together!” says Mia.
Tommy gives Mia the red car. “I can push, you can drive,” he says.
Tommy feels happy now. He feels proud. Mia laughs. They play together. Vroom, vroom!
Tommy says, “I was jealous. Now I am happy.”
Mommy hugs Tommy. “Good job, Tommy. You talked about your feelings. You shared with your friend. Now it is fun for everyone.”
Tommy smiles. Mia smiles. They play and laugh. Sharing is nice. Talking helps. Tommy feels good inside.
