Chapter 1: Story Time in the Bedroom
It was bedtime in Mia's room. Mia was four years old. She had soft, curly hair and a big, warm smile. Her two friends, Sam and Lily, were having a sleepover. Sam used a little blue wheelchair that he liked a lot. Lily wore her favorite yellow pajamas with stars on them.
Mia looked around her room. The night was coming. The window showed the sky turning dark. Mia felt a little scared. She whispered, “I don't like the dark. It feels too big and quiet.”
Sam smiled gently. “Sometimes I feel scared too,” he said. Lily nodded. “Me too. But I know something that helps!” she said, picking up a book from Mia's shelf.
Lily opened the book. The story was about a little bear who was afraid of the dark. The bear's mama gave him a small, glowing lamp shaped like a moon. “Look, the bear has a soft light,” said Lily.
Mia listened closely. The room felt a little warmer. Sam pointed to the page. “The bear is smiling now. He feels safe with his light.”
Chapter 2: Making the Night Friendly
After the story, the friends talked about how to make the room less scary. Mia's mom brought in a gentle, glowing night light. It looked like a friendly star. “Would you like to try this?” her mom asked.
Mia nodded. The little star light made soft shadows on the walls. Sam rolled to the shelf and picked up a fluffy, blue blanket. “Blankets feel cozy,” he said, handing it to Mia. Lily placed her soft teddy bear next to Mia's pillow.
They all looked at the new decorations. The room was still dark, but it felt different now. “It looks calm and pretty,” whispered Mia.
“Let's close our eyes and think about the little bear,” said Lily. “He was brave, and we can be brave too.”
Chapter 3: A Good Night's Sleep
The friends cuddled under the blankets. The star light glowed softly. Mia felt her heart slow down. She wasn't as scared anymore.
Sam whispered, “We are safe together. The dark is just the same room, but quieter.” Lily smiled, holding Mia's hand. “We're not alone. We have each other, our stories, and our lights.”
Mia breathed in and out. She closed her eyes. The dark was not so scary now. It was just nighttime, with friends, soft lights, and gentle dreams.
And soon, all three friends drifted off to sleep, warm and safe, knowing that the dark could be gentle, too.
