Chapter 1: Teddy's Dark Classroom

Teddy the Bear went to Little Woods School every day. Teddy liked to learn and play with friends. Teddy's fur was soft and brown, and Teddy always wore a red scarf.

One morning, Ms. Owl, the teacher, said, “Today we will talk about things that make us feel scared.” All the little animals sat in a circle. They listened with big, curious eyes.

Teddy felt a little shy. Teddy thought, “I feel scared of the dark sometimes. Maybe others feel the same.”

Ms. Owl asked, “Does anyone want to share?”

Milo the Mouse raised a tiny paw. “I get scared of loud noises,” he said.

Lila the Rabbit said, “I worry when I try new things.”

Teddy took a deep breath. “I feel scared of the dark,” Teddy said in a small voice.

Ms. Owl smiled warmly. “Thank you for telling us, Teddy. It is okay to feel scared sometimes. Many of us feel scared of the dark.”

Teddy felt a little better. Teddy looked at Milo and Lila. They smiled back.

Ms. Owl said, “Let's learn ways to feel safe and brave together.”

Chapter 2: The Lights Go Out

Later that day, it was time for nap. The classroom was quiet. Ms. Owl turned off the big light. A soft night-light glowed in the corner. But the room was still darker than usual.

Teddy's heart went thump-thump. The shadows made Teddy feel small. Teddy held the red scarf tight.

Milo whispered from the next mat, “Are you okay, Teddy?”

Teddy whispered back, “I feel scared. The room is dark.”

Milo said, “Let's close our eyes and think of something nice. I think about cheese and hugs.”

Teddy tried it. Teddy thought of warm hugs from Mama Bear and soft grass under the sun.

Ms. Owl tiptoed over and spoke softly, “If you feel scared, you can take slow, deep breaths. In and out. In and out.”

Teddy took a deep breath. In and out. In and out. Teddy felt a little calmer.

Ms. Owl said, “The dark is like a cozy blanket. It helps us rest. And I am right here with you.”

Teddy listened to Ms. Owl's gentle voice. Teddy held the red scarf and breathed slowly. The dark did not feel so scary now.

Chapter 3: Teddy Finds Courage

After nap, Ms. Owl said, “Let's draw pictures of things that help us feel brave.”

Teddy drew a big yellow sun, a red scarf, and Mama Bear's hug. Lila drew her favorite toy. Milo drew a soft pillow.

Ms. Owl hung the pictures on the wall. “Now we can look at these when we feel scared,” she said.

When it was time to go home, the hallway lights were off. Teddy remembered the pictures and took a deep breath. In and out. In and out.

Teddy walked slowly through the dim hallway. “The dark is just the same room with less light,” Teddy said softly.

At the door, Teddy saw Mama Bear waiting. Teddy ran for a big, warm hug.

“I did it, Mama!” Teddy cheered. “I was brave in the dark!”

Mama Bear smiled and gave Teddy a squeeze. “I am so proud of you, Teddy.”

Teddy felt safe and happy. Teddy knew that even when it was dark, Teddy could remember kind words, take deep breaths, and feel brave inside.

And every night, Teddy slept a little better, knowing that darkness could be gentle, and Teddy was never alone.
