A young boy knight with a round face and gentle smile, small helmet, shiny red cape and smooth silver-blue armor holds a small wooden sword and offers a large green leaf like a medal; a ~5-year-old girl with braided brown hair in a yellow dress applauds to his right and a ~6-year-old blond boy in a green tee stands on a small mound to his left receiving the leaf; they stand on a grassy hilltop under a pale blue sky with tall blades of grass, simple red and white flowers, a sparkling stream below and a worn brown rope bridge the knight has just crossed; bright, warm late-afternoon light, vivid colors, centered composition, warm expressions, soft rounded toddler-friendly style. report a problem with this image

A young knight wakes at dawn. He puts on a small helm. He takes his light sword. He smiles. "I help," he said.

He walks to a wide hill. Birds sing. "Tic-tic," they chirp. The wind plays with his cape. He feels big and brave. He says, "Hop!" and runs up the hill. Toc-toc goes his drum. He taps his shield. Tap, tap.

At the top, a bright stream runs. It makes a soft plouf sound. The knight sees a little boat. The sail is small. He climbs in. "I go," he said. The boat moves slow. The water shines like a mirror. He watches the sky. He uses his hands to steer. He is calm. He is smart.

A small bridge is ahead. The ropes are old. The knight thinks. He counts the steps. One, two, three. He walks slow. His feet are sure. The bridge holds. He hums a soft song. "La la," he hums.

On the far side, children wait. They clap. "Yay!" they cry. The knight bows. He gives them a bright leaf like a medal. They all smile. The sun hugs the land. The knight feels warm and proud. He did a kind thing. He did it with a brave heart.

A tiny drum beat says good night. The stars wink. The knight sleeps sweet and calm.

Kind hearts and small brave acts make big light.
