Dame Lily was a kind knight. She had a small shield and a shiny helm. Her pony, Pip, walked by her side. In the great stone castle, the king said, “Brave Dame Lily, we need the Blue Banner for the feast.”
Dame Lily bowed. “I will go,” she said.
She rode on the soft road. She saw green hills and a slow river. At the old bridge, a fat goat sat in the way. It blinked and chewed.
Dame Lily got down. “Hello, goat,” she said. “May we pass?”
The goat said, “My hoof is stuck.”
Dame Lily used her smart eyes. She saw a small rock by the hoof. She used her strong hands. She pushed the rock. She pulled a bit. Pip stood still and calm.
Pop! The hoof was free.
“Thank you,” said the goat. It moved aside.
Dame Lily rode on. Soon she found the Blue Banner on a tall pole. The knot was tight. Dame Lily tried once. She tried twice. She took a deep breath. She held the pole. She tugged slow. The knot came loose.
She waved the Blue Banner high. Back at the castle, all clapped. The king said, “You are brave and wise.”
Moral: A kind heart and calm hands help every quest.
