Bunny hopped through the sunny meadow. Bunny felt a little sad. Bunny's ears drooped. "Oh dear," Bunny said, "where are my friends today?"
Bunny looked around. The grass was green. The flowers were bright. But Bunny felt alone.
Just then, Turtle came by. Turtle was slow and steady. "Hello, Bunny!" said Turtle. "Why are you sad?"
Bunny sighed. "I miss my friends," Bunny said.
Turtle smiled. "I am your friend," said Turtle. "Let's play together!"
Bunny's ears perked up. "Okay!" said Bunny.
Bunny and Turtle played in the meadow. They ran and jumped. They laughed and giggled. Bunny felt happy again.
Then, Squirrel came by. Squirrel was quick and bouncy. "What are you doing?" asked Squirrel.
"We are playing," said Bunny. "Do you want to play, too?"
"Oh yes!" said Squirrel. "I love to play!"
Bunny, Turtle, and Squirrel played all day. They ran and climbed. They rolled and tumbled. Bunny smiled and smiled.
The sun began to set. The sky turned pink and orange. It was time to go home.
"Thank you, Turtle and Squirrel," said Bunny. "You are the best friends."
Turtle and Squirrel smiled. "Friends are like sunshine," said Turtle.
"Friends are like fun," said Squirrel.
Bunny nodded. "Friends make everything better," Bunny said.
Bunny felt warm and happy. Bunny's heart was full of love. Friendship is a special treasure. Bunny knew this now.
And so, Bunny, Turtle, and Squirrel promised to play again tomorrow. With friends, every day is a happy day.
