Three characters: Mia, a 5-year-old girl with brown pigtails in a yellow polka-dot dress on the left, crouching to put a small plastic bag into a green trash bin; Ben, a 4-year-old blond boy in blue overalls and red boots on the right, placing a paper cup into the bin and splashing near a small puddle; and their mother, about 30, with tied chestnut hair, a green T-shirt and jeans, standing behind them smiling with her hand on Mia’s shoulder. The scene is a bright park with textured green grass, a large oak on the left, a wooden swing in the background, a gravel path, colorful flowers, and a shiny puddle; the children are gently picking up and sorting litter, smiling in warm sunlight with clear shadows and glistening water drops as Mia slowly waters a small plant, creating a clean, joyful atmosphere. report a problem with this image

Mia and Ben wake up in the sun. The air is warm. They put on small hats. They hold hands. They go to the park with Mum.

The grass is soft. They feel it with their toes. The trees smell sweet. A bird sings low. The sky is big and blue.

Mia points. "Look," she said. Ben nods. They see a little bag on the grass. It is not nice. They want the park clean. Mum smiles. "We can help," she said.

Mia picks up the bag. Ben picks up a cup. They put them in a bin. The bin is green. "Good job," said Mum. The park feels light. The wind plays with the leaves. The sun feels warm on their cheeks.

They find a small plant by the path. The plant is thirsty. Ben pats the soil. Mia gets a small cup of water. She pours slow. The soil drinks the water. The plant lifts its leaves. Mia claps. Ben laughs. A bee buzzes by. It smells the flower. It is happy.

A little puddle is near the swings. Ben splashes with his boots. He jumps and giggles. His boots are wet. Mum wipes his feet with a towel. He is warm again.

At home, they have two bins. One for cans. One for paper. Mia drops a paper in the paper bin. Ben drops a can in the can bin. They feel proud. Their hands are small. Their acts are small. The world is big. Small acts help.

Night comes. The moon peeks in. They brush their teeth. They sleep in soft beds. Mum tucks them in. "We did good today," she said. They smile and close their eyes.

Every small hand can help the earth.
