Lily is a happy little girl. She loves playing in the garden. One sunny morning, Lily sees a butterfly. It flutters by her nose. "Hello, butterfly!" says Lily.

Lily wants to help the garden. She sees a small watering can. "I can water the flowers," she says. She fills the can with water. The flowers look thirsty. Lily pours the water gently. "Drink up, flowers," she says.

Lily sees a piece of paper on the grass. "Oh, no," she says. "Paper belongs in the bin." Lily picks it up and puts it in the bin. She claps her hands. "Now the garden is clean!"

Lily hears a bird singing. "Tweet, tweet!" says the bird. Lily smiles. "Hello, bird!" she says. The bird hops on a tree branch. Lily waves. "I will plant a seed for you," she says. She digs a tiny hole and places a seed inside. "Grow big and strong," she whispers.

The sun shines warm. Lily sits on the grass. She feels happy. "I love the garden," she says. "It is our home."

Lily's mommy calls her. "Time for lunch, Lily!" Mommy smiles. Lily runs to her. "I helped the garden," says Lily. Mommy hugs her. "You are a good helper," she says.
