Mina put on her soft suit. It was light and warm. She patted the round chest tag. It said MINA.
She walked to the ship. It was small and clean. A big window sat on top like an eye.
“Hello, Mina,” said the ship.
“Hello, Star Pod,” Mina said. She spoke slow and calm.
Mina did her steps. She touched three green lights. “Power.” She tapped a blue knob. “Air.” She pressed a big white button. “Seat.”
A little screen showed a simple face. “All good,” it said.
Mina sat down. She buckled the belt. She held a small photo of her home. She smiled.
“Ready,” Mina said.
“Ready,” the ship said. “Count.”
“Three… two… one,” Mina said.
The ship hummed. It did not shake much. Mina felt a gentle push, like a big hand on her back. Up they went.
Out the window, the sky grew dark. Stars came out, one by one. Small dots. Bright dots. Mina watched and breathed slow.
“Look,” the ship said.
A blue ball floated below. It was Earth. White clouds curled on it. Mina waved. “Hi, Earth,” she said.
They flew on a straight path. The ship showed a line on the screen. “We follow the line,” said the ship. “It keeps us safe.”
Mina nodded. “Good line,” she said.
Soon, they saw the Moon. It was gray and quiet. It looked soft, like a smooth stone.
Mina had a job. She had to drop a tiny helper box. The box had a light and a camera. It would look at dust and rocks and send pictures home.
Mina held the box in her lap. “Box, be kind,” she said.
“Door check,” said the ship.
Mina checked the door light. Green. “Green,” she said.
“Slow,” said the ship. The ship went slow, slow.
Mina pushed the box into a tube. “Go,” she said.
The box slid out with a soft pop. A small light blinked. It floated near the Moon, calm and steady.
The screen face smiled. “Box is fine,” it said.
Mina let out a long breath. “All is well,” she said.
On the way back, Mina sipped water. She watched the stars again. She thought of all the small steps that make big trips.
When they came home, Mina opened the door and felt warm air.
She held her photo and smiled.
