A smiling young female astronaut with a round face and bright eyes sits calmly in a small silver shell-shaped ship wearing a blue spacesuit with white stripes and a clear helmet, gently touching a large red button with a gloved hand while looking out the large rounded window at a smiling small white moon nearby and the distant blue-white Earth; yellow star-shaped stickers float around against a textured dark-blue space background with painted galaxy splotches and tiny star dots, the ship has a pale pink cushioned seat and colorful control panels, and the scene is soft, reassuring, bright and simple for toddlers. report a problem with this image

Maya sits in her small silver ship. The sky is very dark. Maya wears her blue suit and her helmet. She smiles. “Ready to go,” Maya says. She presses a big round button. The ship goes up, up, up. Stars shine all around.

Maya looks out her window. She sees a big yellow star. She sees a red planet. “Hello, star. Hello, planet,” Maya says. She waves her hand. Maya feels safe in her ship. Her seat is soft. Her lights are warm.

The ship makes a tiny beep. Maya looks at her screen. It shows a green light. “All is good,” Maya says. She checks her buttons. One, two, three. All are working.

Maya eats a soft snack. She drinks some water. She feels calm. She sees a small moon. It is round and white. “Hello, moon,” Maya says. The moon glows.

The ship moves gently. Maya puts her hand on the window. She sees her home, the Earth, far away. It is blue and white. “I will come back soon,” Maya says.

Maya turns her ship. She goes home. She feels happy. The stars wave goodbye. Maya smiles. She is proud.

It is good to try new things, and always come home safe.
