Once upon a time, in a little house with a red roof, lived a small girl named Lucy. Lucy had big blue eyes and rosy cheeks. It was Christmas Eve. Soft snowflakes danced outside her window. The world was white and quiet.
Lucy wore her warm red socks and hugged her teddy bear. “Snow, snow, gentle and slow,” she said, looking out. Mama lit a candle. The flame glowed like a star. Lucy smiled. The room felt warm like a hug.
The Christmas tree stood in the corner. It was green with shiny balls and twinkling lights. Bells hung on the tree. “Ding-a-ling,” sang Lucy, touching each bell. “Can you hear the bells, Teddy?” Lucy asked. Teddy smiled and listened too.
Mama gave Lucy a soft blanket. “One, two, three, four, candles on the table,” said Mama. Lucy counted with her. “One, two, three, four,” she said, clapping her hands. The candles shone. The room was full of golden light.
Outside, snow fell slow and silent. “Snow, snow, gentle and slow,” Lucy sang again. The world was soft and sweet. Mama sat beside Lucy. They looked at the tree. Lucy saw a bright star on top. “Look, Mama! Star so high, like a kiss in the sky!” Lucy said.
Mama hugged Lucy close. Bells, tree, snow, and star. All was calm, all was bright.
Lucy closed her eyes. She felt safe and happy. The candle flickered. The snow kept falling. “Good night, Teddy,” whispered Lucy.
When you share love and joy, every night feels warm and bright.
