Once upon a time there was a small boy. His name was Tom. He was three. He wore a warm hat. Snow fell soft. Bells rang low. The tree shone bright. Candles lit the room.
Tom sat by the tree. He held a red ball. He smiled. "Snow," he said. "Bell," he said. He clapped. The song came back, soft and slow. Snow, bells, tree, candles. Snow, bells, tree, candles.
Tom heard a tiny rattle. A little bird came to the window. It tapped the glass. Tom tapped back. "Hello," said Tom. The bird sang. Tom laughed.
Tom wanted to put a bow on the tree. He stood on a small step. The step wobbled a bit. Tom's heart beat fast. Mama came near. She held his hand. "You are safe," she said. Tom smiled. He put the bow on the tree. The tree glowed. The room felt warm.
They sang a small song. Snow fell like soft white dust. Bells rang like a kind hello. The bird sang from the sill. The candles made a warm gold light. Tom yawned. He hugged his red ball. Mama tucked him in. "Sleep," she said. Tom closed his eyes. Peace filled the room.
A kind light stays when we share love and care.
