Lina was one year old. She wore soft shoes and held Mom's hand. Today was sports time at the little gym.
On the mat, Lina tried a tiny jump. Her feet went tap, tap. She smiled. “Jump!” she said. Mom said, “Yes, jump!”
Next was a big red ball. Lina rolled it to a boy. The boy rolled it back. Lina clapped. “My turn,” she said. “Your turn,” the boy said. They rolled the ball slow and straight.
Then Coach Sam brought a small soccer ball. “We kick,” he said. Lina put her foot on the ball. She pushed. The ball moved. “Kick!” Lina said.
Lina tried again. This time the ball went to the side. Lina blinked and held Mom's hand tight. Mom said, “It is ok. Try again.” Coach Sam said, “Good try.”
A girl named Mia stood near Lina. Mia pointed to the goal. “Kick with me,” Mia said. Lina nodded.
Mia held the ball still. Lina took one step. She kicked. The ball rolled right in. Lina giggled. “We did it!” she said. Mia said, “Yay!”
Lina waved at the other kids. Everyone clapped, soft and kind.
Moral: Moving your body is fun, and when you try again and play fair with friends, you feel brave and happy.
