Lily was a little girl. She was one year old. She had a big smile and tiny feet. One sunny day, Lily saw her friend Max. Max was a funny puppy. He had soft fur and a wagging tail.
“Hi, Max!” said Lily.
“Woof, woof!” barked Max.
“Let's play!” said Lily.
“Yay!” yipped Max, jumping up and down.
Lily and Max ran to the big green park. The grass was soft. Birds were chirping. The sun was shining.
“Let's play chase!” said Lily.
“Okay!” barked Max.
Lily ran fast. Max ran faster!
“Catch me!” giggled Lily.
“Woof! I will!” Max yipped.
Suddenly, Lily tripped over a little rock. “Oops!” she said.
Max stopped. “Are you okay, Lily?” he asked.
“Yes! I'm fine!” giggled Lily, getting up.
Then, they saw a butterfly. It was orange and blue.
“Look, Max!” said Lily.
“Wow!” said Max, wagging his tail.
“Let's follow it!” said Lily.
“Yay!” yipped Max.
They ran after the butterfly. It danced in the air.
“Up high!” said Lily.
“Down low!” barked Max.
They jumped and twirled. Giggles filled the air.
“More fun!” shouted Lily.
“More fun!” barked Max.
But then, the butterfly flew away.
“Goodbye, butterfly!” said Lily.
“Bye-bye!” woofed Max.
Lily laughed. “We had fun!”
“Yes!” barked Max, wagging his tail.
And they played and played until the sun went down.
Lily and Max were the best of friends.
