Lila is a happy little girl. She loves to run. She loves to jump. "Run, run, run!" says Lila. Her best friend Max is with her. Max is a big, fluffy dog. "Woof, woof!" says Max. They go to the park. The sun is bright. The sky is blue.

Lila and Max like to play in the park. They see other kids. The kids are playing a game. "Can we play too?" asks Lila. "Yes, come play!" say the kids. Lila and Max join the game. They run and jump. They laugh and cheer.

But, oh no! Lila's team does not win. The other team wins. "It's okay," says Lila. "Let's try again." Lila smiles. Max wags his tail. "Woof!" says Max.

Lila says, "We can do it! Let's have fun!" The team nods. They are happy. They like to play. They like to try.

Lila and Max run fast. "Go, go, go!" says Lila. Max barks, "Woof, woof!" The team works together. They play and play. Lila claps her hands. "We did our best!" she says. Max jumps and barks.

The sun goes down. The sky turns pink. Lila hugs Max. "Good job, team!" she says. The kids smile. They are happy.

Lila says, "Playing is fun! We try. We play. We smile." Max licks Lila's face. "Woof!" he says.

Together, they walk home. The stars come out. Lila yawns. Max snuggles close. "Good night, Max," says Lila. Max closes his eyes.
